We're looking for a warm, enthusiastic and reliable Café Team Member to join our small, friendly team at Southsea Library Café.
We're a small locally-owned business based inside Southsea Library. Our café is at the heart of the local community, providing a welcoming space where people come together to enjoy great coffee, homemade food and friendly conversation.
Our customers are at the centre of everything we do. Many are regulars, and we pride ourselves on getting to know them by name, providing exceptional customer service, and creating an environment where everyone feels welcome.

The Role
As a Café Team Member, you'll be involved in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the café, including:
- Preparing and serving high-quality hot and cold drinks.
- Preparing and serving light meals, cakes and snacks.
- Providing outstanding customer service and building relationships with our regular customers.
- Taking orders, operating the till and handling payments.
- Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and presentation.
- Restocking and helping keep the café running smoothly throughout the day.
- Working with the team or independently to create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.

Previous café, hospitality or barista experience is an advantage but isn't essential, as full training will be provided for the right person.
Availability
This is a part-time position of approximately 6-12 hours per week, with additional hours available for holiday cover/sickness etc
Applicants must be available to:
- Work weekends on a rota basis.
- Work additional hours to provide holiday and sickness cover.
- Be available during the busy summer and Christmas holiday periods.
Flexibility is essential for this role.
