Do you love watching that moment a child connects sounds and starts to read?
Are you passionate about teaching reading and confident in running interventions that truly work?
If you want to be the reason our children become skilled, lifelong readers, we would love to welcome you to our team. We are looking for a permanent, full-time Advanced Teaching Assistant (ATA) to join us from Monday 7th September 2026.
About You:
We need a dedicated phonics champion to support children from Reception all the way up to Year 6. Reading is the golden thread running through our school, and you will be right at the heart of it.
You will be a great fit if you:
- Know the Little Wandle programme inside out.
- Believe in 'keep up, not catch up' and know how to bridge learning gaps early.
- Bring energy and pace to 1:1 and small group sessions.
- Can spot when a child needs a different approach, including children with SEND or EAL.
- Can build confidence and a genuine love for books.
- Enjoy looking at pupil data with teachers to figure out the best next steps for each child.
About Us:
We are a happy, friendly, and hardworking team. Our school runs on three simple values: Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience. Visitors always tell us how polite, kind, and well-behaved our pupils are, and we are incredibly proud of them.
We recently achieved a 'Good' Ofsted rating with three 'Outstanding' areas. We know that we only achieve great things by building strong relationships and truly knowing every child. You can read our full Ofsted report here:

What We Can Offer You:
Our school is growing, and we want to look after the people who make that growth possible. If you join us, you can expect:
- A warm welcome: A proper induction and a supportive team to help you settle in quickly.
- Top-tier training: Regular Little Wandle development and full safeguarding updates so you feel confident in your role.
- A chance to shape lives: Opportunities to get involved in our school trips, clubs, and wide-ranging personal development activities.
- Real wellbeing support: School leaders who actually care about your workload. We run regular staff surveys to listen to your feedback, and you will have 24/7 access to the NYC Health Assured Scheme.
