** Background – The Department of Sociology and Criminology is a leading centre for research, with 88% of research submitted to REF 2021 rated as world-leading (4*) or internationally excellent (3*) quality, placing it 5th in the UK and 1st in London. This post will support the Centre for Online Safety, Safeguarding, Privacy and Identity (COSPI) and its co-directors, Professors Myers and Rajarajan. The successful candidate will contribute to the development, delivery and impact of research, training, knowledge exchange and stakeholder engagement activities within a dynamic interdisciplinary research environment.
** Responsibilities – The post holder will identify funding opportunities, support the preparation of research grant applications, and contribute to the design and delivery of research projects. Duties include questionnaire design, data collection and analysis, conducting research interviews, supporting stakeholder engagement, developing and delivering school-based training and CPD programmes, undertaking project administration, and contributing to knowledge exchange and impact activities that enhance the work of COSPI.
** Person Specification – Candidates should hold a postgraduate qualification in Sociology, Criminology or a very relevant discipline and have experience of social science research and have a keen interest in debates surrounding online safety. They will possess strong qualitative and/or quantitative research skills, including data collection, analysis and reporting. Excellent written and verbal communication, organisational and stakeholder engagement skills are essential. Experience of funding applications, training development, project coordination and working within a higher education or research environment would be advantageous.
