What you'll do
You will play a crucial role in supporting the Commercial Finance team by providing insightful analysis and financial modelling to facilitate decision-making during commercial negotiations. Your responsibilities will include partnering with both finance and non-finance stakeholders, conducting scenario modelling, analysing negotiation outcomes, and communicating analysis and insights effectively to drive strategic discussions and reviews. Success in this role will be demonstrated through your ability to develop and analyse Excel models for supplier plans, understand commercial levers relevant to the buying area, gather information from various sources, track benefit realisation, and contribute to enhancing the organisation's understanding of supply base economics while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

You are a dedicated professional with a strong background in financial analysis and insight, particularly within the FMCG, Food, or Retail industry. Your ability to collaborate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders, coupled with your expertise in scenario modelling and financial impact analysis, enables you to provide valuable support during commercial negotiations and decision-making processes. With a keen analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a commitment to fostering strong relationships across cross-functional teams, you play a pivotal role in driving sustainable growth and maximising financial outcomes for the business.
Essential Criteria
- Part qualified / qualified accountant – CIMA/ACCA/ACA
- Demonstrable experience working in a large FMCG, Food, or Retail business, including application of commercial margin levers and understanding of supplier business models
- Proven ability to analyse complex data sets and generate accurate outputs and insights that inform and support commercial decision-making
- Demonstrated capability to identify, assess and resolve business problems, producing clear and insight-led recommendations
- Evidence of effective collaboration with cross-functional teams (e.g. Buying, Supply Chain, Category Planning, Finance), including building working relationships to deliver shared objectives
- Proven ability to communicate progress, risks and issues through structured reporting, including regular updates in meetings and written reports
