Role Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and driven Tutor/Assessor to join EEV Training as part of the London Talent Pathway contract. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner from the Children, Young People (CYP) and/or Residential Childcare sector to inspire the next generation of professionals through high-quality teaching and assessment.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can hit the ground running, delivering engaging and impactful sessions across Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications. You will be passionate about learner success and committed to maintaining the highest standards of education and professional practice.
Key Responsibilities
● Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment sessions across Level 2 and Level 3 Children, Young People and Residential Childcare qualifications.
● Deliver classes flexibly, including daytime, evening and occasional weekend sessions to meet the needs of learners working within the sector.
● Design and adapt lesson plans and learning materials to accommodate a diverse range of learning needs, styles and backgrounds.
● Conduct observations, assessments and portfolio reviews in line with awarding body standards and internal quality assurance requirements.
● Work collaboratively with the Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to ensure assessment decisions are consistent, fair and meet regulatory standards.
● Manage learner scheduling and caseloads effectively, maintaining accurate and up-to-date learner records and progress tracking.
● Support learner welfare and progression, identifying barriers to learning and implementing appropriate interventions.
● Maintain a thorough and up-to-date understanding of the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework (EIF) and ensure all delivery reflects inspection-ready standards.
● Utilise digital and IT tools to enhance delivery, manage learner data and communicate effectively with learners and the wider team.
● Attend team meetings, standardisation activities, CPD sessions and any other organisational requirements as directed.
● Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of teaching, learning and assessment.
Person Specification — Essential Criteria
Qualifications
● Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, CertEd, Award in Education & Training, or equivalent).
● Assessor qualification (e.g. TAQA, A1/D32/D33, or Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocational Qualifications).
Experience
● Demonstrable, hands-on experience of working within the Children, Young People and/or Residential Childcare sector.
● Proven track record of delivering Level 2 and Level 3 CYP and/or Residential Childcare qualifications in a further education or training environment.
● Experience of working alongside Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) processes, including participating in standardisation and moderation activities.
● Ability to effectively manage learner scheduling and caseloads, with experience of adapting delivery to meet the needs of individual learners.
Skills & Knowledge
● Sound understanding of the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework (EIF) and ability to demonstrate inspection-ready practice.
● Strong IT competency, including confidence using learning management systems, Microsoft Office and digital communication tools.
● Ability to work independently as a self-starter, taking ownership of your caseload and acting on your own initiative.
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with learners, employers and colleagues.
● Flexible and adaptable approach to working hours, including availability for daytime, evening and occasional weekend delivery.
Person Specification — Desirable Criteria
● Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) qualification (e.g. Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices).
● Experience in a management or supervisory role within the CYP or Residential Childcare sector.
● Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and current policy frameworks relevant to children and young people.
● Experience delivering apprenticeship programmes or within a work-based learning environment.

Pay: £26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
