Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Refractory Labourer to join our dynamic Refractory team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with the installation, repair, and maintenance of refractory materials used in high-temperature industrial environments. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in masonry, carpentry, and the use of various tools while contributing to essential infrastructure projects.
Duties
- Preparation and mixing of refractory materials according to project specifications.
- Use hand tools such as trowels, hammers, and chisels to apply refractory bricks and mortar accurately.
- Operate power tools including grinders, drills, and saws to cut and shape materials as needed.
- Cutting bricks and blocks, fit boarding into machines in accordance with safety guidelines and technical drawings.
- Follow safety procedures diligently during all tasks, including wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Collaborate with team members on site to ensure timely progress and quality standards are met.
Experience
- Prior experience working with hand tools, power tools, or in masonry or construction environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of bricklaying, masonry techniques, or carpentry will be highly advantageous.
- Drawings or instructions is beneficial for precise application of materials.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions are essential.
- A proactive attitude towards safety practices and teamwork is highly valued.

Pay: £12.75-£13.00 per hour
