Mascot Performer / Events Team
Mimi's Ice Cream Factory — North Shields, Gosforth, and events across the North East
We're looking for an experienced performer to play Mimi, the character at the heart of our brand.
You'll appear in full costume in our parlours and at events, meeting children and families, posing for photos and staying in character throughout. When you're not in costume you'll work as a character attendant, supporting the performer on shift.
Regular weekly work, plus events across the North East.
Responsibilities
- Perform as Mimi in full character costume
- Engage with children and families in character, maintaining the performance throughout each appearance
- Take part in photo opportunities and meet and greets
- Work as a character attendant at times, supporting and guiding the performer, managing queues and photo opportunities, and keeping the character safe and on schedule
- Keep the costume clean, presentable and well maintained, reporting any damage or wear promptly
- Support the wider events team with set up, running and pack down at external events
- Follow all character performance guidelines and brand standards
Requirements
- Previous performance experience is essential
- Costume, mascot or character performance experience preferred
- Height 5ft 8in or under, as this is the maximum the costume accommodates
- Physically able to perform in a full costume for scheduled appearance slots
- Confident and comfortable working with children and families
- Aged 18 or over
- Weekend availability
- Willing to travel to events across the North East
Hours and pay
- Regular weekly hours, with additional event work available
- Weekend and some evening work required
- £15.00 per hour
Pay: From £15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3.0 – 8.0 per week
