Bench Assembly Operative

About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Bench Assembly Operative to join our production team. This role involves assembling doorsets and door frames, fitting ironmongery, and carrying out final assembly work to ensure products meet our high quality standards before leaving the workshop.
This is an ideal position for someone who takes genuine pride in their work, has a keen eye for detail, and can accurately follow drawings and written instructions.
Key Responsibilities
- Fit hinges, locks, latches and other ironmongery to doors and frames.
- Assemble door frames and doorsets in accordance with production drawings.
- Hang and align doors within frames to specified tolerances.
- Read and follow technical drawings, work instructions and production paperwork.
- Carry out quality checks throughout the assembly process.
- Identify and report any defects, damage or quality concerns before products progress to the next stage.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure production targets and quality standards are achieved.
