Parking Enforcement Officer (Temporary)
Hours: 36 Hours Per Week, Mon – Fri
Contract: 12 Week Temporary Contract (starting 27 April 2026)

Pay Rate: PAYE £20.58 per hour
We're recruiting a Parking Enforcement Officer to support Council's Community Safety Partnership Service. This is a full-time, primarily field-based role investigating environmental crime offences and enforcing relevant regulations to protect the local community.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and respond to parking-related correspondence in line with statutory processes, KPIs, and council procedures
- Prepare cases and present evidence at adjudication hearings with the Environment and Traffic Adjudicators (London Tribunals)
- Review and manage parking permit and suspension applications within set timescales
- Handle calls and emails within a specialist parking customer service environment
- Identify trends in complaints and representations and provide feedback to management
- Authorise cancellations and refunds in accordance with council policy
- Support compliance with enforcement standards and highlight non-compliance issues
- Provide guidance on legislation and complex cases
What We Are Looking For
- Experienced in parking enforcement, appeals, and representations (essential)
- Knowledgeable in parking and traffic legislation, including statutory guidance and processes
- Confident in preparing evidence and attending adjudication hearings
- An excellent communicator with strong written skills and attention to detail
- Able to manage a high-volume workload and meet deadlines
- Customer-focused, with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally
- Fair, objective, and able to explain complex regulations clearly
- Previous experience using Parking systems like Taranto, Response Master and Polaris is highly desired
