General Manager — Job Description
As a General Manager (GM) you are a strategic business leader and brand ambassador responsible for the overall performance of your venue. GMs are required to lead with ownership, drive revenue, deliver five-star guest experience, and uphold company standards. GMs work closely with the direct supervisor and Franchise owner to optimize operations, profitability, team development and overall venue performance.
Key Responsibilities
Sales, Events & Guest Experience
- Proactively prospect, pitch, book, and execute booking for walk-ins, school group, Birthday parties and corporate/team events to drive incremental revenue
- Manage the full event lifecycle: initial enquiry, proposal, coordination, day-of execution, and post-event follow-up to maximize repeat business. Collecting reviews from guests daily is a critical component to order growth

- Drive local marketing, outbound sales outreach, and community engagement to increase venue visibility and guest traffic. Ensure every guest receives a five-star experience; resolve escalated guest concerns swiftly and professionally Uphold all IGB policies, procedures, and brand standards consistently across every customer touchpoint
- Maintain a clean and organized facility to ensure health, safety and service experience is delivered per company policies and standards.
Operations & Facilities
- Ensure the venue opens and closes to IGB operating standard daily. On time, clean and ready to serve. Troubleshoot basic technical issues and escalate promptly to corporate Tech partners; order parts and manage spare-parts inventory to minimize downtime
- Perform and assign daily cleaning: sweep, dust, windows, doors, restrooms, party rooms, check-in counter, break room, and stock areas to brand standard.
- Administrative ownership; scheduling, labor management, audit compliance, maintenance management, performance reporting, staff and leadership communication, certification compliance etc.
- Manage beverage and event supply ordering, including drinks and consumables for birthday parties, school visits, and corporate events
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming venue that complies with all applicable laws and company health & safety policie
Financial Management
- Work with franchise owner on top line and bottom line financial metrics
- Manage labor costs and controllable expenses (supplies, maintenance, F&B) adjust in response to trends
- Track and manage KPIs; revenue, guest satisfaction, PES (Performance Engagement Score), labor cost etc.
- Plan and execute key calendar-driven sales events (Spring Break, holidays, local city events) to maximize revenue People Leadership & Development
- Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop team members
- Write and publish weekly schedules aligned with franchise owners labor budget targets and business demand
- Conduct timely performance conversations; build and manage improvement plans for under-performing associates. Recognize and celebrate strong performance; foster a culture of excellence, ownership, accountability, and team engagement
- Partner with Direct Supervisor and Franchise owner to ensure company and legal compliance is followed. Venues function with small headcount (3 to associates) GM’s are required to be hands on in all aspects of running a location. Opening, hosting, scheduling, servicing, cleaning, ordering guest recovery, trouble shooting, coaching, follow up and closing. Working one man shifts is common throughout the week. Venue Volume dictates daily headcount
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Recommended Experience
- 2+ years as a General Manager or site leader in branded retail, hospitality, leisure, entertainment or similar industries.
- Proven track record in delivering profitable growth and high guest satisfaction scores
- Hands-on leadership style with a guest-first mindset and strong team development skills
- Experience with scheduling, labor/payroll management, P&L reading, and POS/booking systems
- Experience managing Health & Safety compliance and engaging with local vendors or landlords as needed Preferred Experience
- Background in food & beverage, group sales, or local marketing (online or offline)
- Familiarity with technology-enabled, customer-facing venues or attractions
- Experience driving outbound sales and community event partnerships
