We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and energetic professional to join our busy Environmental Protection Team focusing on air quality.
About the role:
We are a progressive and professional team of officers who work tirelessly to improve people’s lives. The officer will participate in monitoring and elevation of air pollutants including traffic data across the district, develop relevant policy documents, produce air quality reports and presentations, respond to air quality enquires and make formal representation on planning applications.
The team are currently working on a clean air strategy and ambitious local targets the post holder would be actively involved in taking this forward and embracing new challenges as this area moves.
Whilst the office base will be Keynsham Civic Centre, we offer flexible working including home working for which IT equipment will be provided. The post holder will be required to undertake site visits and work from time to time in the evenings, weekends and at public holidays for the Council to provide a comprehensive service.
About you:
You will have a degree or masters in relevant subject, and this is a post you can apply for whether you are a recent graduate or have a few years’ experience in this subject field.
You will work closely as part of a team but also on your own initiatives. We are looking for someone with excellent communication and report writing skills. Able to manage their time efficiently to meet deadlines and competent in the use of internet and IT applications. As well as good knowledge of air quality management, legislation and monitoring techniques.
