FizzBug is a dynamic childcare company operating across multiple locations in Hertfordshire, specialising in creating unique, inspiring experiences for children aged 0–13 years.
Our holiday clubs deliver fun, fully inclusive activities designed to engage, educate, and bring out the best in every child, from team-building games to creative challenges that spark curiosity and confidence.
FizzBug’s services span a wide range of childcare provision, including crèche facilities, Breakfast and After School Clubs, Holiday Camps, and seasonal events, ensuring families have trusted, enriching care throughout the year.
THE ROLE
We’re looking for an experienced and driven Camp Manager to lead our FizzBug holiday club at South Oxhey. As the senior member of the team on site, you’ll be responsible for the overall running of the camp, from managing and supporting your team to ensuring every child has a safe, enriching, and memorable experience.
This is a leadership role that requires confidence, initiative, and a genuine passion for working with children. You’ll be the first point of contact for parents, staff, and the wider FizzBug team throughout the holiday period.
Key responsibilities include:
- Take overall responsibility for the safe and effective running of the South Oxhey holiday camp
- Lead, motivate, and support a team of Team Leaders and activity staff
- Plan and oversee the daily activity programme, ensuring it is varied, age-appropriate, and inclusive
- Act as the designated Safeguarding lead on site, responding to any concerns promptly and in line with FizzBug policy
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers, handling enquiries and feedback professionally
- Manage registers, daily admin, and compliance paperwork to a high standard
- Conduct staff briefings and support ongoing team development throughout the holiday period
- Liaise with FizzBug management to report on camp operations and flag any issues
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed consistently by all staff
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Essential:
- Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within childcare, education, or leisure
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Confident decision-maker who can stay calm under pressure
- A genuine passion for delivering high-quality childcare and children’s activities
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures
Desirable (don’t worry if you don’t have these- we’ll support you!):
- A valid DBS check (we can arrange one through our FizzBug system if needed)
- First Aid certification (we provide in-house training)
- Formal Safeguarding training (we provide this through FizzBug)
- Relevant childcare or management qualification
