General Builder with carpentry experience – Self-Employed Subcontractor

We’re a small building company based in Bristol / North Somerset looking for a self-employed General Builder with strong carpentry experience to work with us on a regular subcontract basis. Our work mainly consists of extensions, refurbishments, conversions, kitchens, bathrooms and general building work.
The Work
Depending on your skill-set, you’ll be carrying out a range of general building tasks, which could include:
- 1st and 2nd fix carpentry
- Structural works (fitting steels etc)
- Groundworks and drainage
- Roofing
- Blockwork
- Plaster boarding
- Tiling
- Working from drawings and site instructions
- Maintaining good standards on site and with customers
- Plastering/rendering
- Painting
If you don't have experience in all of the above then it isn't the end of the world as long as you are willing to learn and have a good attitude, we are happy to train up the right candidate.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a general builder with good carpentry experience
- Fully self-employed
- Own tools and transport
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Reliable, punctual, and takes pride in their work
- Professional attitude
- Good understanding of building practices and site procedures
- Ability to read drawings
- Full UK driving licence preferred
