Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. The successful candidate will assist with meal preparation, food safety and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills within catering, cooking, and restaurant operations with the opportunity to progress with in the kitchen team. Prior kitchen or culinary experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
With the launch of our new event venue, this is an exciting opportunity to support the already thriving business.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly according to established recipes and standards
- Support the cooking process by preparing ingredients and ensuring timely delivery of dishes
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, utensils, and kitchen equipment in compliance with food safety regulations
- Help organise stock levels, check expiry dates, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to ensure a safe working environment
- Support the kitchen team during busy periods by performing various tasks as directed by senior staff
Skills
- Experience or interest in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently under supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Basic understanding of meal preparation and food presentation techniques
- Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary arts and kitchen operations
Please note this is not a seasonal position, this is permeant position. All candidates are required to have the flexibility to work varied shift times, including weekends.
