We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing authentic sushi dishes with precision and creativity, ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation. Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, maki rolls, and other Japanese delicacies, adhering to traditional recipes and presentation standards.
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and prepared in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organised workstation, following hygiene protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to coordinate orders efficiently during busy periods.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs for replenishment promptly.
- Assist in training junior staff or apprentices as required, sharing knowledge of sushi preparation techniques.
- Uphold high standards of customer service by engaging with guests when appropriate and accommodating special dietary requests.
Skills
- Proficiency in English for effective communication within the team and with customers.
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple orders efficiently during service hours.
- Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with colleagues and provide exceptional customer service.
- Experience or knowledge of plumbing is advantageous for maintaining kitchen equipment or water supply systems.
- Teaching ability to mentor junior staff or trainees in sushi preparation techniques.
- Basic IT skills for inventory management or ordering systems.
- A passion for Japanese cuisine with a keen eye for detail in food presentation and quality control. Pay: £12.21-£17.11 per hour
