Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Domiciliary Care Worker (Driver) to provide high-quality care and support to clients in their own homes. This role involves assisting individuals with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence. The ideal candidate will possess a caring nature, excellent driving skills, and experience in various aspects of personal care. A valid driving licence is essential, along with a commitment to delivering respectful and person-centred care. Responsibilities
- Provide personalised assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Support clients with mobility issues, including light lifting and behaviour management strategies.
- Assist with specialised care needs including Alzheimer's, dementia, hospice, and senior care.
- Transport clients safely to appointments, social outings, or errands using company vehicles.
- Monitor and record client progress, report any concerns or changes in health status to relevant healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by assisting with household tasks and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to enhance clients’ wellbeing and quality of life.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines, including first aid procedures when necessary.
Experience
- Previous experience in assisted living, home care, nursing home settings, or hospice care is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s or dementia is advantageous.
- Experience in caregiving roles involving medication administration, behaviour management, or childcare is beneficial.
- Familiarity with first aid procedures and health & safety regulations relevant to personal care environments.
- Valid driving licence with a clean driving record is required for safe transportation duties.
- Candidates with experience in heavy lifting or meal preparation will be considered positively but training can be provided where necessary.
