Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Room Leader to oversee the daily operations within our warm, nurturing curiosity based environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children. This role offers an opportunity to lead a small homely based team of early childhood educators, ensure high standards of care and education, and foster a nurturing environment for young learners. Applicants should have relevant childcare experience, preferably within nursery or early childhood education settings, and hold excellent communication skills in English along side a minimum of a level 3 qualification.

Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of early childhood practitioners, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and educational activities.
- Plan, organise, and implement engaging learning programmes tailored to the developmental needs of children.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Support staff development through mentoring, training, and performance management.
- Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to promote effective communication and collaboration.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies, safeguarding procedures, and childcare regulations.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping, planning documentation, and reporting as required.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the nursery’s curriculum and policies.
Qualifications
- Proven management experience within a childcare or nursery setting.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Extensive experience working directly with children in early childhood environments.
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Relevant childcare qualifications recognised within the UK (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent).
- Paediatric First aid.
- Safeguarding level 3 or willingness to work towards.
- A genuine passion for working with children and fostering their growth in a safe, caring environment.
