Responsibilities:
- Provide group class tuition (between 15-20 students) for an in-person 11+ course at a school in South West London.
- Assess student's current knowledge and follow a topic plan (VR, English, NVR and Maths)
- Help students develop effective study skills and strategies
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents or guardians
- Utilise educational resources and materials to enhance tutoring sessions (all resources provided)
- Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment
- Be able to commit to all sessions (30 sessions) - 10 sessions per term, per class - 3:30pm - 5:00pm. Dates and a full schedule will be provided. We are looking for multiple tutors for multiple classes.
- Registering and dismissing children from the school/class/club
- A school visit prior to the September course start - a day in July to be discussed. Meeting with the head etc.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in tutoring or teaching, especially with children - a QTS is a must.
- Strong communication skills to effectively explain concepts and engage students
- Knowledge of various teaching methods and learning styles
- Patience and empathy when working with students who may have special education needs
- Ability to adapt lessons to accommodate different skill levels and learning abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field is preferred, but not required
