Retail Security Officer (Mobile Cover) - North Wales
Job Overview
Mitie is seeking reliable and professional Retail Security Officers to support a wide network of retail stores across North Wales. This is a mobile security role covering multiple locations, requiring flexibility, commitment, and the ability to travel independently between sites.
The successful candidate will play a key role in protecting our customer's people, property, and assets while delivering a professional retail security service in accordance with site Assignment Instructions (AI's), company procedures, and client requirements.
Due to the geographical spread of the stores and some late-night finishing times (up to 23:00 and 00:00), a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential requirements for this role.

You will be required to provide cover across stores located in:
Wrexham
Queensferry
Rhyl
Llandudno
Bangor
Pwllheli
Holyhead

Main Duties
Operations
Deliver a professional retail security service in line with published Assignment Instructions (AI's).
Protect customer staff, visitors, stock, and assets.
Understand and follow the ASCONE procedure as a minimum requirement of the role.
Complete all site duties as directed by the Security Account Manager and local management teams.
Follow instructions and procedures professionally and consistently.
Maintain a high standard of customer service while remaining vigilant to security risks.
To be aware of and ensure compliance with all aspects of policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK Law and Guidance bodies.
Proactively refer to and review the published Assignment Instructions, familiarising oneself with any changes suggesting additional amendments to improve or enhance the current service levels.
There is also a requirement to obtain a CCTV PSS SIA Licence if not already obtained, Mitie currently run incentives to help facilitate this process.
Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority.
Work in a systematic, methodology and orderly way.
Security and Health & Safety
Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.
To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
To ensure check calls are being carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's).
To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.
Training
Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.
To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.
You are required to ensure you renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.
Essential Requirements
Valid SIA Security Guarding (SG) Licence or SIA Door Supervisor (DS) Licence.
Previous experience in security guarding, loss prevention, or customer-facing security roles.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Access to a reliable vehicle.
Ability to travel across Wrexham, Queensferry, Rhyl, Llandudno, Bangor, and Pwllheli.
Good communication and report-writing skills.
Ability to work independently and use initiative.
Understanding of, or willingness to learn, the ASCONE procedure.
Desirable
CCTV SIA Licence.
Experience working within retail environments.
Experience as a Security Guard, Door Supervisor, or Mobile Security Officer.
