DESCRIPTION/JOB SUMMARY
A Quilter/Long Arm Machinist is responsible for filling foam into sewn cases for customer orders. When the cases are filled it is sewn on a long arm sewing machine at various points along the quilt ready for upholstery. This is a very busy demanding role and full training will be given to the right candidate.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Filling foam into Sewn quilts for customer orders.
- Filling foam seats into sewn orders using machinery provided.
- Using Long arm sewing machines and patterns to correctly sewing a straight line at various points dependant on model and size of the chair.
- Following the production schedule ensuring oldest orders are completed first.
- Scanning the production ticket through our Work in progress computer system for every order.
- Adhere to Health and safety.
- Be flexible to do any job asked when necessary.
- Keep areas clean and tidy.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Able to meet the physical demands of the role.
- Good team working skills.
- Have the ability to work quickly and efficiently as well as being able to work on your own initiative as and when required.
- An understanding of health and safety regulations is an advantage.
Hours of work
Monday - Thursday 6am - 2.30pm
Friday 6am - 12pm
Must be physically fit, hard working and reliable, overtime is available as and when required.
