At Mettricks, we're passionate about serving fresh, high-quality food and exceptional coffee across our sites. We're looking for a reliable and organised Prep Chef to join our central kitchen team and play a key role in preparing and delivering the food our customers love.
About the Role
As a Prep Chef, you'll be responsible for preparing a variety of fresh food products including sandwiches, toasties, salads, and other grab-and-go items. You'll help ensure our cafés are fully stocked by preparing, packing, and dispatching food orders to our different locations.
This is a fast-paced role that would suit someone who enjoys working efficiently, takes pride in consistency and quality, and thrives as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing sandwiches, toasties, salads, and other fresh food items to Mettricks standards
- Carrying out daily food preparation and ingredient prep
- Packing completed products ready for delivery to our café sites
- Organising and dispatching orders accurately and on time
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness
- Monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages
- Assisting with kitchen cleaning and general kitchen duties
- Following recipes, specifications, and portion controls to ensure consistency
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a kitchen, food preparation, catering, or similar role is preferred
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliability and punctuality are essential
