We're looking for an experienced Senior HGV Workshop Supervisor to join a well-established HGV fleet operation based in Liverpool!
This is a senior, hands-on position combining workshop leadership with significant time working on HGV’s and supporting the engineering team on the tools. You'll provide technical leadership, oversee workshop performance, improve vehicle availability and ensure high standards of maintenance and DVSA compliance.
You'll play a key role in driving engineering best practice, developing the workshop team and supporting the continued growth of the business.
This is a Full-Time, Permanent position!
What you’ll be doing
- Lead and support the workshop team, maintaining high engineering standards
- Stay hands-on, carrying out fault finding, repairs and maintenance on HGV’s and specialist vehicles
- Support the team with complex repairs, breakdowns and technical issues
- Oversee workshop planning, maintenance and fleet availability
- Drive high standards of workmanship, safety and workshop performance
- Ensure the workshop meets DVSA and Operator Licence requirements
- Coach and develop the engineering team, whilst leading by example on the tools
- Help drive improvements across the workshop and reduce vehicle downtime
Hours
Monday-Friday 6:30am-5:00pm
Saturday 7:00am-12:00pm (occasional)
Pay
£60,000 – £70,000 per year (depending on experience)
Skills/Experience Required
- Strong hands-on HGV or commercial vehicle engineering experience
- Previous experience in a senior workshop, supervisory or team leader position
- Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fault-finding skills
- Good knowledge of HGV maintenance and fleet compliance
- Understanding of DVSA regulations and Operator Licence requirements
- Proven ability to lead, support and develop an engineering team
- Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
- A hands-on approach with the ability to lead from the tools
