About KW Scaffolding
KW Scaffolding is a specialist access contractor delivering complex scaffolding solutions across industrial, pharmaceutical, commercial and COMAH-regulated environments throughout the UK.
Our projects range from £10,000 maintenance works through to multi-million-pound shutdowns, capital projects and long-term frameworks. We are known for our commitment to safety, compliance, planning and delivering high-quality solutions within some of the UK's most demanding working environments.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Scaffolding Estimator to join our team.
The Opportunity
This is not a trainee or entry-level estimating position.
We are looking for an experienced scaffolding estimator who can immediately contribute to the business, manage enquiries independently and confidently prepare accurate, commercially sound tender submissions.
While we will support you in understanding our systems, procedures and approach to delivery, applicants must already possess a strong understanding of scaffolding estimating principles and industry practices.
The successful candidate will have experience reviewing complex tender documentation, interpreting detailed specifications, assessing commercial and operational risks, and pricing projects within highly regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender enquiries, drawings, specifications, scope documents and client standards.
- Produce accurate scaffold estimates and tender submissions for projects ranging from £10,000 to £2,000,000.
- Assess labour requirements, materials, transport, design, management and project overheads.
- Evaluate project risks, opportunities, site constraints and programme requirements.
- Interpret complex client specifications and compliance requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost build-ups and supporting tender documentation.
- Attend site visits, pre-tender meetings and client discussions where required.
- Liaise with operations teams, scaffold designers, suppliers and clients throughout the tender process.
- Review contractual terms and conditions and identify commercial risks.
- Support negotiations and contribute to successful project handovers.
- Maintain awareness of market conditions, supply chain costs and industry developments.
- Ensure all submissions align with company standards, client expectations and regulatory requirements.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a scaffolding estimator within the construction or industrial sectors.
- Demonstrable experience pricing projects within industrial, pharmaceutical, commercial or COMAH-regulated environments.
- Experience estimating projects ranging from small maintenance works through to large-scale contracts valued up to £2,000,000.
- Strong understanding of scaffold design principles, access requirements and temporary works considerations.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction contracts.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Highly Desirable
- Experience working with Tier 1 contractors and major industrial clients.
- Knowledge of NEC, JCT and other standard forms of contract.
- Understanding of high-hazard industry requirements, permit systems and operational constraints.
- Knowledge of NASC guidance, TG20, TG30, TG4, SG4 and current industry best practice.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be commercially aware, technically competent and capable of working independently. They will be comfortable reviewing complex specifications, identifying risks and opportunities, and preparing high-quality tender submissions that reflect both compliance requirements and commercial objectives.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and bring existing estimating experience to the business rather than requiring training in the fundamentals of estimating.
If you have the experience, technical understanding and commercial mindset to succeed in a high-performance environment, we would like to hear from you.
