Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making. You will work closely with various departments to ensure accurate financial management and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with or preparing monthly management accounts
- Assisting with preparation of divisional reporting
- Assisting with weekly cashflows
- Producing journals, accruals and prepayments
- Conducting balance sheet reconciliations
- Daily bank reconciliations
- Supporting month-end and year-end close processes
- Analysing financial performance and investigating variances
- Preparing reports and financial information for senior management
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with internal controls
- Petty cash reconciliations
- Intercompany and Inter divisional journals
- Stock reconciliations and adjustments
- Fixed Asset register maintenance
- Wages reports, journals and deduction reconciliations
- Assisting with VAT returns
- Monitoring processes to ensure compliance with HMRC etc
- Supporting the wider accounts team with ad-hoc projects and analysis
- Supporting the audit and reporting to the Finance Director
Requirements
- Proven experience in financial management within a corporate environment, preferably in the industrial or manufacturing sector.
- Strong proficiency in various accounting software
- Solid understanding of financial accounting principles and practices.
- Experience of large quantities of monthly transactions
- Experience of payables essential and payroll experience desirable
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
