Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter and Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, wallpaper, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high standards of quality and professionalism. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals to work locally in the south Nottinghamshire area. There is also an opportunity to work away from home with wage enhancements and accommodation. Will be part of a team that has spent many years building a solid reputation which and has many satisfied customers in the residential and commercial space.
Duties
- To have own vehicle and tools
- To run projects with a small team from start to finish whilst liaising with clients.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other decorative finishes to interior and exterior surfaces
- Use brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and specialised tools to achieve desired effects
- Protect surrounding areas with masking tape, drop cloths, and other safety measures
- Follow technical specifications and colour schemes accurately to meet client expectations
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and requirements
- Assist in the organisation of materials and equipment needed for each project
Skills
- Proven experience in dealing with customers in the residential and commercial sector.
- Ability to operate various painting tools and equipment efficiently
- Strong communication skills in English to understand instructions and liaise with clients effectively
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transportation between sites
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or as part of a team when required
Pay: £17.50-£22.50 per hour
