Position: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 9:00am – 4:30pm
- Friday: 9:00am – 2:30pm
Evolution Safety Solutions Ltd are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Fire NVQ Assessor / Trainer to join our growing team based in our Training Academy in Merthyr Tydfil.
This role is ideal for somebody with a strong practical background in the fire sector who is passionate about developing others and maintaining high industry standards. We are particularly interested in candidates from an operational fire service background or individuals with extensive vocational fire safety experience.
The successful candidate will deliver, assess and support learners across a range of fire-related qualifications from Level 2 through to Level 4, both in person and online.
Key Areas of Delivery & Assessment
The role will involve delivering and assessing qualifications and vocational competence in areas including:
- Fire Safety
- Fire Risk Assessment
- Fire Engineering
- Fire Door Inspection & Compliance
- Fire Compartmentation
- Passive Fire Protection
- Building Fire Safety Compliance
- Health & Safety
- Associated portfolio-based qualifications
Delivery will take place through a mixture of:
- Classroom-based sessions
- Online learning and support
- Workplace assessment
- Portfolio and evidence review
- Professional discussions and learner guidance
Essential Requirements
Applicants must:
- Have a strong vocational background within the Health & Safety and fire industry
- Ideally be ex-fire service or have significant operational fire safety experience
- Hold a recognised Assessor qualification (A1, CAVA, TAQA or equivalent)
- Have experience assessing vocational qualifications and portfolio-based evidence
- Be confident delivering both face-to-face and online training
- Hold strong written and verbal communication skills
- Be organised, professional and capable of managing learner caseloads effectively
- Hold a full UK driving licence
Desirable Requirements
It would be advantageous if candidates also hold:
- IQA qualification (V1, IQA or equivalent)
- Teaching or training qualifications
- Experience delivering qualifications from Level 2 to Level 4
- Experience working with awarding bodies and EQA processes
- Knowledge of Quals Direct or similar e-portfolio systems

Pay: From £35,000.00 per year
