Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Hand/Cook to join our team. The work environment is based within a friendly open kitchen with regular repeat customers operating between 8.30am - 3pm, 7 days a week. This role involves assisting with food preparation, cooking, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen. The successful candidate will support the kitchen operations to ensure efficient service and deliver quality meals to our customers. Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is desirable, but a strong willingness to learn and a passion for food are essential. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills within a professional environment.
Hourly wage is dependent on experience, full training can be given and the opportunity to obtain food safety qualifications, free meals provided on shift.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients
- Cook and prepare meals according to specified recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces
- Ensure food safety standards are adhered to at all times
- Support the team during busy service periods by efficiently serving meals to customers
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently to create a safe working environment for all staff
Skills
- Experience in food preparation and cooking is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards
- Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Strong teamwork ethic and communication skills
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks within the kitchen setting

Pay: £12.75-£14.25 per hour
