Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home
Oldham (OL4)
£13.40 – £14.20 per hour
Sleep-in allowance: £65 – £85 per night
Salary: £27,206 - £29,536 per year (based on 40 hours per week not including sleeps)
Hours: Flexible rota basis (Full-time preferred but part-time may be available)
Start Date: Immediate start available (subject to recruitment checks)
About the Role
We are currently seeking dedicated and experienced Residential Support Workers to join a supportive team within a children’s residential home in Oldham.
The home provides specialist residential care for children and young people up to the age of 18 with Learning Disabilities and Autism, some of whom may display behaviours that challenge.

Key Responsibilities
- Support children and young people in their daily routines and activities
- Create a safe, caring, and structured home environment
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide 24-hour care and support
- Encourage personal development, independence, and emotional wellbeing
- Provide personal care where required, depending on the needs of the child
- Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures
Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – desirable
- Willingness to work towards a Level 3 Diploma (training and support provided)
- Experience supporting children with Autism, Learning Disabilities, or SEN
- Understanding of behaviours that challenge
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one – we can assist)
- Full UK Driving Licence – required
- Ability to provide a full employment history / CV
