Job Summary
Peter Harding & Co Construction Ltd are seeking a skilled Plasterer to join our commercial construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying plaster to interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring smooth, durable finishes that meet project specifications. Your expertise will contribute to creating high-quality walls, ceilings, and decorative features across diverse building sites. The Pay rate is based on CIS and will depend on experience and Pay status of the applicant.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer to ensure optimal plaster adhesion.
- Mix plaster materials accurately according to project requirements and safety standards.
- Apply plaster using hand tools such as trowels, hawks, and floats, ensuring even coverage and smooth finishes.
- Use power tools and fabrication equipment for mixing, cutting, or shaping plaster components as needed.
- Repair damaged surfaces by patching and skimming with plaster to restore structural integrity and aesthetic appeal.
- Collaborate with team members including carpenters, masons, electricians, and plumbers to coordinate work sequences effectively.
- Follow schematics and technical drawings to achieve precise finishes on complex architectural features.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in plastering within residential, commercial, or industrial construction projects.
- Familiarity with related trades such as roofing, masonry, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and construction painting is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of hand tools and power tools used in plastering and fabrication processes.
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately for precise application.
- Basic understanding of construction safety protocols and OSHA standards.
- Additional skills in welding, roofing, masonry, or construction painting will be considered a plus.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform manual tasks efficiently in various weather conditions.
- Scissor Lift experience preferable
