Estimator - Joinery
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum, depending on experience
We are seeking an experienced and detail-focused Estimator to join a growing projects team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional with experience preparing accurate and competitive estimates.
Working hours:
Monday to Friday. Flexible start times as long as you are doing 40 hours a week.
Key responsibilities
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documents
- Preparing detailed cost estimates for labour, materials and subcontractors
- Obtaining and evaluating quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
- Producing accurate and competitive tender submissions
- Identifying potential risks, cost-saving opportunities and value-engineering options
- Liaising with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal project teams
- Maintaining accurate records of estimates, quotations and project information
- Supporting projects through the pre-construction and handover stages
- Monitoring market prices and maintaining up-to-date cost information
Requirements
- Previous estimating experience within construction, fit-out, manufacturing or a related project-based environment
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Good commercial awareness
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with estimating or project-management software would be beneficial
