Working Hours: 4:00pm – 6:30pm (Mon-Fri)
Pay: Negotiable depending on experience and qualifications
About the Role
UKIM Keighley Madina Masjid Madrassah is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and committed Islamic Studies Teacher to join our team.
The successful candidate will play an important role in educating and nurturing the next generation, helping students develop a strong understanding of Islam, Islamic values and their Muslim identity in a positive, engaging and supportive environment.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about Islamic education and enjoys working with children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and age-appropriate Islamic Studies lessons to students of different ages and abilities.
- Teach Islamic knowledge in an accessible, engaging and inspiring manner.
- Support students in developing a strong understanding of their Deen and Muslim identity.
- Prepare and deliver structured lessons in accordance with the Madrassah curriculum.
- Monitor students’ progress and provide appropriate feedback and encouragement.
- Maintain a positive, respectful and well-managed classroom environment.
- Encourage good Islamic manners, character and behaviour.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with the Madrassah team to support the wider educational aims of UKIM Keighley.
- Promote safeguarding, inclusion and the wellbeing of all students.
Essential Criteria
- Strong knowledge of Islamic Studies.
- A sound understanding of core Islamic beliefs, practices and values.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage effectively with children and young people.
- Passion for Islamic education and developing the next generation.
- Ability to create a positive and respectful learning environment.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to the ethos and values of UKIM Keighley Madina Masjid.
Desirable Criteria
- Previous teaching experience, particularly within a Madrassah or Islamic educational setting.
- Relevant Islamic Studies qualification or recognised Islamic education background.
- Experience working with children or young people.
- Experience in lesson planning and classroom management.
- Knowledge or experience of safeguarding procedures.
