Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Assistant to join our team. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and organisation within Madingley Hall, ensuring a hygienic and welcoming environment for all visitors and staff. The ideal candidate will have experience in hospitality cleaning, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive attitude.
Key responsibilities
- Clean and prepare allocated areas, predominately bedrooms to meet the agreed standard of cleaning and presentation within a set timeframe
- Maintain a personal stock of cleaning materials and supplies to ensure materials are available for use.
- Ensure equipment is working and report faults to managers.
- Observe and record minor maintenance deficiencies within the working area and report these to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Provide feedback where repairs have not been carried out or problems resolved.
- Advise supervisor of any health and safety issues, concerns or deficiencies within working areas
- Advise supervisor of any specific resident requirements over and above cleaning requirements
Experience and Qualifications
- Some experience of cleaning processes, ideally in a hospitality environment.
- General understanding of cleaning processes and materials.
- Ability to take responsibility for high standards of service and follow through on the resolution of problems.
- Ability to communicate with a wide variety of individuals, including staff and guests.
- Unfailingly polite and considerate communicator with guests and able to relay requests to staff.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and to time constrains.
- Basic literacy skills.
- Understanding of Health and Safety requirements for trip hazards, lifting, carrying, use of cleaning chemicals, etc.
- Flexible approach to shifts (including weekends and bank holidays).
