An established organisation operating within the compliance and life safety sector is seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to join the business on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity to support a key period of change and continuous improvement, helping to strengthen health, safety and environmental performance while supporting the ongoing developmentof ISO-aligned management systems.
Your new role
As Health, Safety and Environmental Manager, you will provide immediate support to the organisation's HSE function, working closely with senior management to maintain compliance, improve processes and drive best practice across multiple operational sites.
Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting the ongoing management and improvement of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 systems.

Reviewing and updating HSE policies, procedures and management system documentation.

Conducting audits, inspections and compliance reviews.

Monitoring corrective actions and ensuring timely close-out of non-conformities.

Carrying out risk assessments, RAMS reviews and workplace inspections.

Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses and supporting the implementation of corrective actions.

Delivering toolbox talks, inductions and HSE training sessions.

Providing practical HSE guidance to managers, employees and contractors.

Supporting environmental initiatives, performance monitoring and compliance activities.

Helping to foster a positive and proactive health, safety and environmental culture.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will have:

NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent qualification.

Experience working with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.

Previous experience supporting HSE compliance programmes, audits or management system implementation.

Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.

Experience conducting workplace inspections, audits and incident investigations.

Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.

The ability to quickly establish credibility and provide practical HSE advice in a fast-paced environment.

A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites when required.
Desirable experience includes environmental qualifications, integrated management systems knowledge, and membership of IOSH, IEMA, CQI or a similar professional body.
