Our friendly, popular and successful Primary School is seeking an additional Teaching Assistant to support SEND pupils with personalised learning. This will be with pupils who either are in receipt of an EHCP or on the pathway to being awarded one. The role is likely to be a combination of support both in class and interventions outside of the classroom. A lunchtime supervision duty is also included.
The successful candidate will be joining a supportive, caring and forward-thinking school community who are dedicated to their roles and are keen to go that ‘extra mile’ to make a real difference to the lives of the children. - be skilled and confident in supporting learning, particularly with SEND pupils, to raise achievement
- have recent experience of a primary school setting either in mainstream or specialist settings
- have patience, understanding, warmth and empathy with pupils
- have strong interpersonal skills and be a team player
- have a creative and enthusiastic ‘can do’ approach
- be willing to go that ‘extra mile’
- understand that pupils with SEND can present with significant verbal, physical and behavioural difficulties
- be emotionally resilient and willing to be an active part of a small team

Contract: Part-time SEND Teaching Assistant
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 1:30pm (with flexibility to increase beyond this based on pupil need)
Salary: Grade 3 point 3: £24,796 (£12.85 per hour) to point 4 £25,185 (£13.05 per hour) pro rata, term-time only
Location: Thakeham Primary School
