About Us
At Dundee Ford Centre, we pride ourselves on delivering outstanding customer service and technical excellence. As an established Ford dealership, we provide comprehensive automotive services—from routine maintenance to major warranty repairs. We are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Workshop Controller to join our busy service department and lead our workshop team to continued success.
Key Responsibilities
- Workshop Operations: Oversee the day-to-day workflow within the workshop, ensuring all scheduled service, maintenance, and repair work is allocated efficiently to the technician team.
- Team Management & Productivity: Supervise, mentor, and motivate technicians and apprentices to meet individual and workshop efficiency, productivity, and quality targets.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all work is performed to Ford manufacturer standards and strict health and safety regulations.
- Interdepartmental Communication: Work closely with Service Advisors, Parts Advisors, and Management to provide regular updates on vehicle status, job delays, or additional required work.
- Process & Warranty Compliance: Maintain accurate records for warranty and retail work, ensuring administrative tasks and job cards are completed correctly.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Proven track record working as a Workshop Controller, Senior Technician, or Service Master within a franchised dealership (Ford experience is highly desirable).
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of modern vehicle mechanics, electronic diagnostics, and workshop procedures.
- Leadership Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and staff management skills with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Organization: Ability to prioritize workloads under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Licence: Full UK Driving Licence.
