Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food preparation.
- Oversee all aspects of food production, from menu planning to execution, maintaining consistency and quality.
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs to optimise operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across the kitchen area.
- Develop and implement innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while catering to customer preferences.
- Train staff on proper cooking techniques, food presentation, and health & safety procedures.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Monitor staff performance, provide coaching, and organise training sessions to foster professional development.
- Handle customer feedback professionally to resolve any issues promptly and maintain customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment.
- Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Demonstrable team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead diverse groups of staff.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations essential for maintaining hygiene compliance.
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and front-of-house staff.
- Passion for innovation in cuisine coupled with a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
