About the Role
We are recruiting Residential Support Workers to support children and young people aged 5–18 years who access our short-break services.
Previous experience is not essential for this role. We are looking for individuals who are committed to learning and professional development. Successful candidates will be expected to work towards the Children and Young People's Workforce Diploma following successful completion of their probationary period.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children and young people aged 5–18 years with learning disabilities and complex needs.
- Act as a positive role model, promoting confidence, independence, life skills, and positive self-esteem.
- Establish and maintain positive boundaries with children and young people who may present emotional needs or behaviours that challenge.
- Encourage positive interactions and support emotional development.
- Contribute to a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment.
- Promote social, emotional, and physical wellbeing.
- Respect the dignity, individuality, and rights of all children and young people.
- Provide personal care when required.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver high standards of care and support.

- Willingness to learn and undertake relevant qualifications.
- Ability to manage responsibilities during shifts and work as part of a team.
- A full driving licence is desirable but not essential.
Working Hours
The role involves a variety of shift patterns, including:
- Weekends
- School holidays
- National holidays
- Sleep-in shifts
Sleep-in shifts are paid at a separate fixed rate and may involve supporting children and young people during overnight stays.
Additional payments are available for:
- Unsociable hours
- Waking night shifts
Recruitment Requirements
Successful applicants will:
- Be aged 18 or over.
- Complete an Enhanced DBS check.
- Provide satisfactory references.
