Responsibilities
- Support the Home Manager in overseeing daily operations of the residential setting, ensuring smooth and effective service delivery.
- Lead and supervise care staff to provide high-quality, person-centered care tailored to each child's individual needs.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and reviewing personalized care plans that promote safety, independence, and emotional well-being.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, safeguarding policies, and quality standards within the home.
- Monitor medication administration and ensure accurate record-keeping in line with regulatory requirements.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, social workers, and external agencies to support holistic care approaches.
- Contribute to staff training and development initiatives to enhance team skills and knowledge in areas such as dementia care, assisted living practices, or other specialized needs relevant to the children’s circumstances.
Skills
- Proven experience working within assisted living environments or nursing homes, with a strong understanding of senior or dementia care practices.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with previous supervising or management experience in a care home or similar setting.
- Knowledge of creating and managing care plans tailored to individual needs, including medication management.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising effectively with children, families, staff, and external professionals.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to oversee multiple responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Compassionate approach combined with the ability to motivate and inspire a team dedicated to delivering exceptional care.
- Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and regulatory compliance related to residential childcare settings.
Experience:
- Children Care Home Deputy Manager or Team Leader role ,2 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Level 5 Qualification or working towards Level 5 (required)
