Job Summary
Room lead/2-year-old lead position - As our nursery continues to grow, we are excited to be opening a new 2-year-old provision and are looking for an exceptional Room Lead to play a key role in its development. We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and energetic practitioner who can think on their feet, use their initiative, and inspire both children and colleagues. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our experienced and nurturing staff team to create a warm, stimulating environment where every child can thrive. Duties
- Assist the Nursery Supervisor in overseeing daily centre activities and staff management
- Support the planning and implementation of educational programmes tailored to children's developmental needs
- Supervise and motivate nursery staff, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures
- Foster a warm, inclusive, and safe environment for children under your care
- Engage with children through play, learning activities, and personalised support
- Maintain effective communication with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and centre updates
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Assist in organising staff rotas, training sessions, and performance reviews
- Drive centre vehicles when necessary for outings or errands
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood setting
- Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations
- Childcare qualifications recognised by relevant authorities (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- Ability to work effectively under pressure whilst maintaining a nurturing approach
- Organised with good time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently

Pay: Up to £26,403.00 per year
