The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and passionate Assistant Restaurant Manager to join a prestigious restaurant operation near Middlesbrough.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional with a strong background in fine dining and luxury service who is looking to take the next step in their management career.
Working closely with the Restaurant Manager and senior management team, you will play a key role in leading the front-of-house operation, developing the team and ensuring consistently exceptional standards across food, service and guest experience.
Previous experience within a minimum 3 AA Rosette environment is essential, with Michelin-starred or Michelin-level dining experience highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Restaurant Manager with the day-to-day running of the restaurant.
- Take responsibility for the restaurant operation in the Manager's absence.
- Lead, motivate and support the front-of-house team during service.
- Deliver exceptional service standards consistent with a luxury dining environment.
- Work closely with the Restaurant Manager, Head Chef and kitchen brigade to ensure seamless service.
- Maintain consistently high standards across food presentation, service and guest experience.
- Lead by example and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.
- Coach, train and develop junior members of the front-of-house team.
- Assist with staff rotas, training and day-to-day team management.
- Build strong relationships with guests and deliver a personalised service.
- Handle guest enquiries, feedback and complaints confidently and professionally.
- Support busy services and ensure the restaurant operates efficiently.
- Assist with stock control, ordering and cost management.
- Support private dining, functions and special events.
- Ensure food safety, health & safety and company procedures are consistently followed.
- Work collaboratively with the wider hotel and management team.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Minimum 3 AA Rosette restaurant experience – essential.
- Previous experience as an Assistant Restaurant Manager, Senior Restaurant Supervisor, Restaurant Supervisor or similar senior hospitality position.
- Michelin-starred or Michelin-level dining experience highly desirable.
- Strong experience within fine dining, luxury hotels or high-end restaurants.
- Excellent knowledge of restaurant service and luxury hospitality standards.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a front-of-house team.
- Strong coaching and team-development skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a genuine passion for hospitality.
- A confident, polished and professional approach.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm and organised during demanding services.
- A hands-on approach and willingness to lead from the front.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and busy hotel periods.
