Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks to transport loose materials such as gravel, dirt, or debris to designated locations on construction sites or industrial facilities
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of vehicles, checking fluid levels, brakes, tires, and mechanical components to ensure optimal performance
- Use your mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues and perform routine maintenance or report significant repairs needed
- Coordinate with site supervisors and team members to plan routes and delivery schedules for maximum efficiency
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, traffic laws, and environmental regulations during operation
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, materials delivered, and vehicle condition reports
- Assist with loading materials onto trucks when necessary, ensuring proper securing for safe transportation
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid driver’s license suitable for operating heavy vehicles (CDL preferred)
- Strong mechanical knowledge to perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance on dump trucks
- Experience operating excavators or other heavy machinery is a plus but not required
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures diligently
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and site personnel
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks such as loading materials and inspecting vehicles regularly
