We're looking for someone who can combine technical expertise with strong communication and organisational skills to support the acquisition of new homes and the disposal of existing assets across Cornwall Housing's portfolio.
About the role
This is an interesting and varied role supporting the acquisition of new homes and the disposal of existing assets. You'll work closely with developers, contractors, Cornwall Council and internal teams to ensure homes meet the standards expected by Cornwall Housing and provide long-term value for residents.
In this role, you will:
- Undertake property inspections and identify defects, risks and liabilities
- Support the acquisition of new homes and the disposal of existing assets
- Work with developers, contractors, Cornwall Council and internal stakeholders
- Prepare technical reports, assessments and recommendations
- Monitor and manage defects through to resolution
- Support contractor performance and ensure value for money
- Provide technical advice on building defects and repair solutions
- Contribute to compliance, health and safety and service improvement activities

About you
To be successful, you'll have:
· Experience in building surveying or a property-related role; experience within the social housing sector will be an advantage
- Experience managing a varied caseload or multiple projects from start to finish
- Experience working with customers, contractors and a range of stakeholders
- Ability to identify defects, assess risks and recommend appropriate solutions
- Experience preparing reports, technical assessments or recommendations
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong communication skills and confidence working independently
- Desirable: Relevant surveying qualification or professional membership, or equivalent experience

Salary: £40,594 per year
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent
Base: Hybrid working - working from office, home, site and in the community as needed. Your base will be our main office in Chy Trevail, Bodmin, PL31 2FR. This role requires you to typically work from the office at least 2 day/s per week, sometimes including attendance at short notice.
