Multi-Skilled Operative
We are currently looking to add a Multi-Skilled Operative to our team.
Working alongside our existing team members, you will be involved in the delivery of a wide variety of commercial refurbishment, maintenance and construction works throughout the Central Belt and beyond.
Our workload is varied and no two weeks are the same. Projects can range from small maintenance and repair works through to larger refurbishment and construction projects.
Typical works can include:
- Internal fit-out and refurbishment
- Joinery, windows, doors, partitions and ceilings
- Roofing works
- Cladding
- Timber kit works
- General building works
- Planned and reactive maintenance
- Assisting with and learning other trades where required
We are looking for someone with a good general construction background who is practical, reliable and comfortable turning their hand to different types of work.
A joinery background would be advantageous, but is not essential. More important to us is finding someone who is reliable, takes pride in maintaining a good standard of work, is willing to learn new skills and is happy to get involved in work outside their usual trade or experience.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week, although flexible working arrangements may be available for the right candidate. Overtime will also be available as and when required.
Rate of pay will be dependent on experience and ability. Operatives are hourly paid, with the opportunity to earn additional bonuses depending on the type of work being undertaken.
Candidates will require:
- Experience within construction, refurbishment or maintenance works
- Ability to carry out a range of practical tasks safely and to a good standard
- Good problem-solving skills
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid CSCS Card (we can assist with arranging this if required)
- Full, clean UK driving licence – essential for driving company vans
- Good work ethic and reliability
The role would suit someone who enjoys variety, learning new skills and working across different types of projects rather than staying within one specific trade.
