We are currently looking for experienced Senior Care Assistants (Day and Night Shifts) to join our dedicated and compassionate team at The Croft, a friendly and well-established residential care home located in the heart of Whalley town centre, just a short walk from Whalley High Street.
Please note: This is a self-employed position. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship, therefore applicants must already have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
These are senior and highly responsible roles within our care team, offering you the opportunity to take full responsibility for the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care during either day or night shifts. You will play a key role in ensuring our residents remain safe, comfortable, and well supported at all times, while consistently upholding the highest standards of dignity, respect, and compassion.

Key Responsibilities
Take full responsibility for leading either day or night shifts and ensuring safe, effective care delivery
Carry out regular monitoring of residents’ physical and emotional wellbeing
Provide sensitive and compassionate personal care, including hygiene, mobility, and comfort support
Administer medication safely, accurately, and in line with procedures (essential)
Respond promptly and effectively to any changes in residents’ condition, emergencies, or incidents
Ensure residents are always treated with dignity, privacy, and respect
Maintain accurate, clear, and timely care records and documentation throughout each shift
Follow all health, safety, safeguarding, and infection control procedures
Support smooth and effective handover between day and night teams
What We Are Looking For
Proven experience in a Senior Care Assistant role within a residential or nursing home setting (essential)
Fully medication trained and confident in safe administration (essential)
Strong understanding of person-centred care and care planning
Ability to work independently and take full responsibility for a shift
Calm, dependable, and professional approach under pressure
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accurate record keeping
Respect for confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times
Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is desirable
