We are looking for experienced Groundwork Handymen to join our teams on a busy project in Kent.
You will be a skilled all-rounder with strong experience in external drainage, pipelaying, deep drainage and associated external works, working as part of an established gang to deliver safe and high-quality groundworks.
The main focus of the role will be external drainage, with additional groundwork and external works duties as required.

Setting up and using trench boxes, drag boxes, manhole boxes and pipe lasers

Carrying out external drainage and pipelaying works to drawings, levels and specifications

Laying concrete, clay and plastic pipes (all sizes) to correct bed, surround and levels
-
Installing and working with manholes, chambers and drainage connections
-
Ensuring pipes are tested and laid correctly throughout
-
Managing groundwater and setting up the correct pump for the task

Ensuring correct backfilling of trenches

Benching of all manholes

External works including kerbs, edgings, slabs and block paving
-
Working safely around live services using correct service avoidance techniques

Carrying out daily pre-start plant safety inspections

CSCS Groundworker card or similar qualification
-
Confined Space ticket
-
Safety Critical Medical (site specific)

CAT & Genny Training
-
Reliable, punctual and able to work well with other trades

Right to work in the UK

Proven experience in external drainage and pipelaying

CPCS / NPORS (CSCS-affiliated) Forward Tipping Dumper*

CPCS / NPORS* Ride-On Roller

Abrasive Wheels Training

Face Fit Certification

Harness Awareness Certification

5–10+ years of skilled groundworks experience

Experience working as part of established groundwork and drainage gangs
