We are looking for a compassionate, motivated and clinically confident Registered Nurse to join our detoxification team as part of our bank staff. This is an opportunity to use your nursing skills in a specialist environment where your clinical expertise, therapeutic approach and ability to build trusting relationships can make a real and lasting difference to people's lives.
Working within our detoxification service, you will support people through one of the most important and challenging stages of their recovery journey. You will provide safe, evidence-based nursing care while helping residents understand their treatment, build confidence and take positive steps towards sustained recovery.

Job Purpose
To provide safe, compassionate and person-centred nursing care to individuals undertaking drug and/or alcohol detoxification, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to support physical and psychological wellbeing and promote successful engagement in ongoing recovery.
The postholder will contribute to the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care, ensuring that detoxification is delivered safely, effectively and in accordance with professional standards, clinical guidance, organisational policies and regulatory requirements
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who combines clinical competence with genuine compassion. Experience within substance misuse is desirable, but we are also interested in nurses who can demonstrate transferable clinical experience and a genuine passion for supporting people affected by addiction.
In order to be successful you will have:
- Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience working in substance misuse, addiction, detoxification, mental health, community nursing, acute care or another relevant clinical environment.
- An understanding of alcohol and/or drug withdrawal and the principles of safe detoxification.
- Knowledge of medicines management and safe medication administration.
- The ability to undertake and interpret physical observations and recognise clinical deterioration.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The confidence to work independently while knowing when to seek advice or escalate concerns.
- A calm and reassuring approach when working with people who may be distressed, anxious or experiencing withdrawal.
- A commitment to safeguarding, equality, dignity and person-centred care.
- A willingness to learn, develop and contribute to a positive team culture.
