Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Hgv class 1 driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and experience in commercial transportation. The position involves operating curtain siders and bulkers and adhering to all safety regulations to maintain high standards of service.
Working time is Monday-friday with an occasional night out every so often
New passes comsidered
Mainly bulker work so experience is an advantage but training can be given
Responsibilities
- Safely operate lorry and trailer to transport goods to designated locations.
- Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries while complying with legal driving hours and safety regulations.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Secure cargo properly to prevent movement or damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle inspections.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays.
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies to ensure safety on the road at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Hgv class 1 driver preferably with two years experience
- Valid C+E driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience in driving curtain siders and bulker lorries or similar vehicles is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations relevant to commercial driving.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently.
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude towards clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and handle physical tasks associated with cargo securing and vehicle inspections. This role is ideal for motivated individuals committed to delivering excellent service while maintaining the highest safety standards in commercial transportation.
