Your role
You will play an important supporting role within the Traffic and Transportation team, working closely with more senior engineers to deal with requests and deliver schemes. We want you to:
- Prepare and support the completion of feasibility studies, appraisal / assessment reports and other written documents.
- Assess needs/requests, then prepare and arrange for processing and implementation of traffic management regulation orders.
- Compile technical drawings using AutoCAD and associated packages, such as KeyLines, KeySign and KeyPost.

Help to develop engineering solutions and present engineering options.
- Assist in the preparation of Bill of Quantities.
- Provide expert technical advice to officers on Traffic Management matters.
- Provide day-to-day advice to members of the public requesting information concerning Traffic Management issues.
Your profile
Ideally, you will already be working towards appropriate qualifications in highways and civil engineering. We are also looking for:
- Intermediate/Advanced AutoCAD experience.

Intermediate/Advanced MS Office skills, especially MS Excel and MS Word.

Strong report writing skills.

Working knowledge and experience in Traffic and Road Safety methods.
- Technical skills relating to the design of Traffic Management and Road Safety schemes.
- Sound working knowledge of creating and critically reviewing scheme documentation.
- Applied knowledge of quality, safety and environmental processes.
- Strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
