Enviromontel is looking for a proactive and organised Workshop Lead to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our Huntingdon workshop.
This is a hands-on role supporting operational teams by ensuring equipment is maintained, calibrated, tracked and available for deployment when required. The successful candidate will become the primary point of contact for the Huntingdon workshop and will play a key role in supporting field operations and maintaining high standards of equipment readiness.
A major focus of the role will be the calibration, maintenance and preparation of wastewater flow monitoring equipment, alongside managing the movement of stock and equipment in and out of the workshop.
Key Responsibilities
Flow Monitor Calibration & Maintenance
- Prioritise the calibration, testing and maintenance of wastewater flow monitoring equipment
- Carry out inspections, fault finding and basic repairs where appropriate
- Record calibration measurements and maintenance activities accurately
- Prepare equipment for servicing, repair or return to manufacturers where required
- Ensure equipment remains operational and ready for deployment
Asset & Equipment Management
- Manage the check-in and check-out of equipment using the company asset management system
- Ensure all equipment is correctly logged, labelled and allocated
- Maintain accurate records of equipment locations and movements
- Support equipment audits and stock checks
- Monitor stock levels of consumables, tools and PPE
Workshop Operations
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment
- Receive, inspect and process incoming equipment
- Prepare equipment for deployment to operational teams
- Organise equipment storage and stock control
Logistics & Operational Support
- Support engineers and project teams with equipment requests
- Pack and dispatch equipment to operational sites
- Receive deliveries and organise stock storage
- Liaise with operational teams and the Worcester workshop regarding equipment requirements
- Where qualified, assist with towing and transporting the company’s mobile training pod to operational sites, training events and customer locations
Compliance & Safety
- Follow company health and safety procedures
- Ensure workshop activities are carried out safely and in line with company standards
- Maintain accurate maintenance and asset records
To guarantee all new team members fully understand company procedures, health and safety mandates, equipment protocols, workshop standards, and operational expectations before beginning field work.
About You
We are looking for someone who is practical, organised and comfortable working independently.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working in a workshop, engineering, maintenance or technical environment
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A practical, hands-on approach to equipment maintenance
- The ability to manage their own workload and prioritise tasks effectively
- Good IT skills and confidence using computer-based systems
- A full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Experience calibrating or maintaining wastewater flow monitoring equipment
- Experience using asset management or inventory systems
- Category B+E driving licence (or higher)
- Experience towing trailers or mobile units
- Ideally located within approximately 30 minutes of Huntingdon
Working Hours
Standard working hours are 08:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday.
Due to operational requirements, some flexibility will occasionally be required. This may involve an earlier start or later finish to support equipment deliveries, collections, site mobilisations or urgent operational requirements. These occurrences are generally infrequent and form part of supporting a busy operational workshop environment.
