Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Ground Worker based in Chippenham who must possess their own vehicle and driving licence. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting groundworks and construction activities, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and safely. Duties
- Assist with excavation, trenching, and site preparation tasks using appropriate tools and machinery
- Transport materials and equipment to various sites using your own vehicle
- Support the installation of foundations, drainage systems, and other groundwork components
- Maintain site safety standards by adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely progression of projects
- Conduct routine inspections of tools and equipment, reporting any issues promptly
- Assist in site clean-up and organisation post-completion of tasks
Experience
- Proven experience as a Ground Worker or similar role within the construction or civil engineering sectors
- Valid driving licence with own vehicle essential for travel between sites
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to groundworks
- Ability to operate basic machinery and hand tools safely and effectively
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Good communication skills and reliability are essential for this role
